I think I get a DM on Instagram once every two minutes asking me what’s in my green smoothie. So, I decided it was about time to create a blog post all about my infamous green smoothie. 

This is the smoothie I make every single day. Seven days a week. No matter what. Whether I’m traveling or at home, I drink this smoothie for breakfast like clockwork. I got the recipe for this smoothie from my friend, Kelly Leveque who wrote the book Body Love.  This book has AMAZING recipes and is seriously one of my go-to places to find recipes that are both delicious and healthy.

 

GREEN SMOOTHIE

1 serving vanilla protein powder

1/4 avocado or 2 tablespoons coconut oil

2 tablespoons chia seeds (I use flax seed because Dave is allergic to chia)

Handful of spinach

2 cups unsweetened nut milk 

 

I’ve used this recipe as my base and have made modifications as I went. I don’t love the taste by any means but I drink it every morning because it fuels my body. It allows me to have energy and sets my day up for success. Whether you adopt this smoothie or create your own recipe I encourage you to find a breakfast that you can habitually make. Remember, if you own the morning you own the day!
