Halloween Trick or Treating with Treatster

I think you all know by now that I’m obsessed with Halloween. Between my Halloween dessert buffet and my Slimy Snail Cinnamon Rolls I’m forever on a mission to come up with new and fun ways to celebrate the holiday with my boys.

I think my obsession started when I realized that “family costumes” were a thing. For the first couple of years the boys matched each other and Dave and I didn’t dress up. But that was pretty boring. Then I realized we should totally get in on this whole dressing up thing… and the very first Hollis Family Halloween Costume was born.

There was the year we introduced our new Batman

This year’s costumes are going to be pretty hilarious. I can’t reveal what they are yet but I can say that we’ve been planning for weeks and I think it’ll be awesome. We’ll get dressed up, do our trick or treating and then head back to our house for dinner with my in-laws. And to make our trick or treating extra fun this year we’re trying out a new mobile site I’m positive my boys are going to freak out about: Treatster!

Target Treatster

Treatster is a mobile site from Target. It’s the first social media network exclusively for Trick or Treaters and it lets you know all the coolest houses in your neighborhood to trick or treat at. So if a house has really cool decorations or is giving away candy bars the size of your head you can let others know where it’s at. You do this by carrying around these cool 3-D pumpkins (which my boys are for sure going to fight over) and every time you’re at a house you like you hit a button on the back it syncs wirelessly to mark your location on GPS. The pumpkins were made exclusively for Target partners but you can still use the site through your smartphone and even log in early to upvote your own home. It’s the coolest!

Do you think mobile sites like Treatster is the future of Halloween? Comment below and let me know what you think of the idea.

How to Use Treatster

Every time I remember that we’re working on this promotion with Target I get excited because I know my kids are going to think it’s the coolest. Follow along with us on Halloween on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as we prep our costumes and head out with Treatster — it’s going to be a blast!

This post is part of a promotion with Target, but as always, all comments and opinions are my own.
