blood orange cocktails

Is there anything prettier than a blood orange martini? I’m not sure there is… unless of course you add lime juice and cherry juice and hold your perfectly chilled blood orange martini in your perfectly manicured hands. These are the perfect cocktails to make with your girlfriends before book club!

Chill the martini glasses before serving them, either by placing them in the freezer for a bit or with our Chic Tip!

ice in martini glass

Set the ice filled glasses to the side and then place a handful of raspberries into a cocktail shaker. Add the fresh squeezed lime juice and the fresh squeezed blood orange juice. If you can’t find fresh blood oranges at the grocery store, a regular orange or tangerine will work just fine.

Using a muddler or a wooden spoon, muddle the raspberries with the citrus juice.

Next pour in the agave nectar, vodka, and black cherry juice.

Fill the shaker with ice and place the lid on tightly. Shake vigorously and then strain into the chilled glasses. Dump out the ice from the martini glasses before pouring in the cocktail.

Garnish the blood orange martini with a fresh cherry. Make sure you warn people though of the pits in the cherries. You can pit the cherries before garnishing as well.

If you’re having trouble finding black cherry juice, I found it in the juice aisle. It’s a 100% cherry juice from concentrate and it’s great not only for the flavor of this cocktail, but also for the color.
