Potluck ideas, tips, recipes

I’ve been going to potlucks since I was a baby, and I can honestly say they’re one of my favorite ways to blow 4,000 calories in one sitting! I mean, you’ve got an assembled group of people who each bring their very best dish to the table and what you’re left with is a veritable smorgasbord of deliciousness! To this day I host at least two big potlucks a year, the biggest of which is happening this Sunday for Easter.

Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends stop by for an egg hunt and a potluck just like my Grandma and Grandpa Neeley hosted every year. It’s fun, it’s yummy and when faced with so much good food there’s only one thing that can spoil my day… running out of room on the plate! Don’t you hate it when you’re making your way around the potluck table getting a little of this and a little of that and you create the perfect plate only to turn around and see that you totally missed the potato salad??! That salad is your favorite because only Aunt Mildred makes it just that way but it was mixed in with the hot foods and you didn’t anticipate it jumping out of order? Sure, you could get a second plate but that seems glutenous and so you look at the side dish sadly as you walk away thinking there must be a better way. There is! Print out these cute little signs for your buffet so your guests will know where to put their dish. Hot food with hot food, vegetarian items in the vegetarian section… you’ll save yourself having to answer a thousand questions about where you want things AND your buffet will be beautifully accessorized!

Print out the pages below on thick card stock and cut them out to fit in little frames. If you don’t have frames, just do a tent fold with the paper and call it good!
