We are so excited to kick off our first ever Wedding Week with one of our very own. For those of you who are new to us, Melody is the baker extraordinaire behind many of the creations you can find here on ‘Half Baked.’ She also happens to be Ms. Rachel Hollis’ sister and ‘bestie.’ So naturally, we wanted to share the details of Melody and Jakes lovely, Southern inspired wedding. Set at the Hollis’ home, this wedding is intimate, sweet and homey. So come on in, get comfortable and take a peek at the summer day that Jake and Melody got married.
Grandma Neeley’s broach was Melody’s ‘something old.’
Melody had her Mother’s wedding dress recut for a modern twist on a Southern classic.
Sawyer stood in as the official ceremony bouquet handler.
Three rustic blue doors stood in as the ceremony backdrop.
To create an interesting display, they used two ladders and slabs of wood to create a shelving backdrop for the bar.
The menus were hand written by little Jackson, Rachel’s oldest son and Melody’s godson.
Instead of one cake, they went with a collection of cakes and pies all made by women in the family.
