Go-To Mom Outfits for Summer FeaturedLet me start off by saying, I dislike the term “mom outfit.”

I dislike it because I recognize that there are millions of mothers on this planet and each and every one of us has a different idea of what we’d like to wear. For every pair of linen drawstring shorts I own, there are plenty of other moms who are rocking leather pants and cool tattoos and feeling fabulous and taking awesome care of their babies. So, just keep that in mind as I show you my favorite mom outfits for summer. Er, well, late summer. Either way, these are some of my staple pieces for my “mom” activities.

Go-To Outfit for School Drop Off
Let’s just keep it real since back to school is upon us and this is my reality. School drop off for me is all about ease of use and what can I grab quickly. Nine times out of ten I’m in workout clothes with a scarf in my hair or a ball cap to cover up my bed head. If this is you too, don’t be embarrassed, just get some cute workout pants and change up the t-shirt… nobody will be the wiser.

Go-To Outfit for Running ErrandsIt’s a hundred thousand degrees right now in Los Angeles– at least it feels that way to me. When I run errands I like to layer a button down over a summer dress, so I can add or remove a layer depending on the temperature of the stores I’m in. Flats and a cross body bag are musts too. It’s also worth pointing out that the dress/shirt combo cost me exactly $1. No really, I got the shirt at Wal-Mart clearance years ago and I inherited this dress from Dominique (our social media coordinator) during our chic clothing swap!

Go-To Outfit for Moms at Soccer PracticeSawyer is the soccer player in our family, so this outfit gets some action during weekly practice. But, it also works for any outdoor activity. I just throw on comfy jeans, a solid color t-shirt, easy flats (notice a theme?) and my favorite ball cap.

Go-To Outfit for Moms on Play DatesLast but not least of my mom outfits for summer is the playdate. This works for playgroups, MOPS meetings or mommy and me. Since I’m hanging out with my other mom friends I try and add a little something extra. The outfit is simple and comfortable and I just top it off with a fun piece of jewelry.
