rachel hollis recipe

My mom has been making this recipe for as long as I can remember and everyone who has ever had one of her sugar cookies will tell you… it’s the best recipe ever! The key ingredient? Orange zest! It adds this perfect little kick to the cookie and makes it a delightful treat with an afternoon cup of coffee or tea. Watch the video for the how-to then scroll on down for the recipe. ~Rachel

orange zest for sugar cookiesOnce your dough is all combined it’s time to roll it out. Some people like to use a floured surface but I put my dough in the center of two sheets of wax paper. This way my rolling pin doesn’t get dirty and I can hold the wax paper in place with my hip against the counter. Seems silly but that’s how I’ve always done it.

Once you’ve rolled your dough out (about a half an inch thick) dip your cookie cutter into flour so it won’t stick and use it to cut out the cookies.
