Here’s a fun fact. For as long as I’ve been a mother I’ve been making my boys Halloween costumes. I started it the first year Jackson was old enough to trick or treat and I thought it would be cool to dress him up as Elmo. The Elmo costume online was $49 and I was like, wait, what?! I decided I could totally figure out how to dress him as Elmo and even if it was terrible he was too little to know it, right?

So I made them Elmo and Cookie Monster using sweat pants and they thought it was great. Fast forward years later and I’m still the DIY queen when it comes to Halloween costumes. This year, or I should say, 4 months ago the boys decided that they wanted to be a “Wild West Scene”. I won’t spoil the final affect (we’re making a video about it to show you guys) but Jackson and I are supposed to be the cacti in this scene. You know what that means? It means I had to figure out how to make a DIY Cactus costume!

There was a lot of hot glue involved but I think the end result turned out really cute. If you’ve got the time (and the green sweatpants) consider this DIY cactus costume for your little one!
