A couple of years ago I started running, you can read all about that experience here, and it has had a profound affect on my life. Running is now my main form of exercise and I run about 18miles a week which is a crazy accomplishment for someone who couldn’t have walked a mile without getting winded a few years ago.

I’ve loved the experience of competing in 5K’s 10K’s and Half Marathons and I wanted to figure out some way to celebrate those races. So I came up with this idea and I think it would make a great gift for runners or even just something you make yourself as a way of commemorating your accomplishment. Every single race gives it’s participant a race bib and I feel badly throwing them away but haven’t been sure what to do with them… now here’s the answer, frame them and turn them into cool artwork!

I just took the white paper that came inside the frame, flipped it over to the blank side and taped the racing bibs on there in a collage. Once you lay the glass back on top it holds everything down nice and tight and you’re ready for display.

gifts for runners

Yes it’s a cool gift for runners, but if you’re making this for yourself consider leaving the safety pins on the bibs like I did with some of mine. I think it adds a nice touch and is something only other runners would understand. ~Rachel
