chair makeoverThis chair in my living room used to belong to Dave’s grandpa. We received the gift and always planned on having it reupholstered since it was several years old. But on the way to our house, this cool old chair literally fell off the truck and giving it a makeover became an even bigger priority.

before and after chairI mean, yowza, poor chair!

Luckily I’d already found a photo inspiration (from 4 Men 1 Lady) for what I wanted to turn the chair into, check it out below.

Chair 1

I had the chair reupholstered in white (pretty dang daring when you have 3 kids!) and then did my own version of the whole drape the blanket under the cushion thing. I get so many compliments on this little set up when we have company which is especially fun since the chair was a hand-me-down, the blanket was $7 at Ikea, the big pillow is clearance form Target and the little “H” was a find on Etsy. I just love it when style is affordable, don’t you?
