last minute valentinesDo you know what I want for Valentine’s Day? It’s the same I want every year… I want creativity, imagination and  above all, I want some forethought.

I love Mr. Hollis, more than anything, but that boy is the king of the last minute Valentine’s gift. He does get a bit of a pass as Valentine’s also happens to be his birthday, but I’m not asking for extravagence I’d just like to see that he thought about my gift more than 15 minutes before he arrives home on February 14th.

This post is designed for hubby’s like mine, or boyfriends or girlfriends or really anyone who still isn’t sure what they’re getting their special someone. This is a last minute valentine. It costs absolutely nothing. It takes approximately 15 minutes to achieve. It’s a sweet little surprise to tell your sweetie you love them. Surprise them with a post-it heart above their desk (or for those who stay-at-home just stick it somewhere auspicious).

last minute heart giftJust get a pack of sticky notes in your favorite color and use them to make a heart on the wall.

Paper Heart ValentineNow add a sweet little note (or maybe tons of sweet little notes) and underneath that sticky note heart I’d leave your loves favorite morning beverage and maybe a yummy breakfast. It’s so simple, but if I came down on Valentine’s morning I’d be so touched. I don’t want fancy dinner reservations or overpriced flowers, I just want a little effort and that doesn’t cost anything at all.

What do you think readers? Do you like simple and creative valentines or something big and indulgent? I’d love to hear if I’m way off base here. ~Rachel
