rachel hollis birthdaySo tomorrow is my birthday… my 31st birthday to be exact.

Notice how I didn’t mind telling you my age? Notice how I didn’t hesitate? That’s because I LOVE birthdays… most especially, my own. Does that make me a nerd? Probably.

Years ago it seems it suddenly became uncool to celebrate your birthday. You were supposed to ignore the day and the passing of another year less you seem to juvenile or too focused on yourself. But ladies, chances are you spend 364 other days every year doing something for others, so why not fully embrace this one day to celebrate the awesomeness that is YOU?! With that in mind, here are my favorite ideas for doing a little something extra for yourself on your next big day.

rainbow sprinkle pancakes

Start the day off right by making yourself some birthday pancakes, add all the whipped cream and sprinkles you want. Remember, calories don’t count on your bday!!

And for some sprinkles with no calorie count at all, consider a Confetti Manicure from Studio DIY

This is the photo that inspired my post. I flipping love this Sparkly Crown Headband from Little Blue Olive!

I mean, seriously, don’t we all deserve to be queen for a day?

If the crown is a little too much for you, how about a Custom Birthday Brooch from Sew Crafty Lou?

I found this on Pinterest and I couldn’t find who made it, but I had to include it still. It’s a great reminder for us all, you are always special, remember to do something nice for yourself no matter what day of the year it is!
