Can you believe the year is almost over?!  2013 flew by so fast and the new year is a week away…

This past year we shared with you fabulous drinks like sparkling cranberry cocktail, lovely lavender bellini, and birthday cake martini.  Here are 12 cocktails and drinks to quench your thirst until the clock strikes midnight!  Find your new favorite cocktail to help you ring in 2014!

Pomegranate-Spritzers-

Let’s start this party with a little bubbly.  Sarah of Making Thyme for Health combines champagne, pomegranate juice and vodka to make this festive and refreshing pomegranate spritzers.

Apple-Sangria-Jelly-Toast-1-of-3This is no ordinary sangria.  This apple sangria by Emily of Jelly Toast contains caramel vodka.  Yes, CARAMEL vodka.  I didn’t know such a thing existed.  This is sure to impress guests!

Seelbach CocktailA cocktail with bourbon and champagne?  Where do I sign up?  Read up about the history this lovely The Seelbach Cocktail from John of Kitchen Riffs.  Rumor has it that this was a favorite of a certain F. Scott Fitzgerald.

easy-mulled-wine-the-best-holiday-cocktail-3Mulled wine is a wintertime staple.  This version by Serena of Domesticate Me  includes brandy and orange juice.  This is a great drink for parties because you have prepare it ahead of time!

persimmon-9All autumn and winter, my kitchen is overflowing with persimmons (thanks to dad’s many persimmon trees!). This per-cinnamon martini with homemade persimmon infused vodka by Carlynn of JJBegonia sounds like a wonderful way to use up those fruits!

Cranberry-Orange-Gin-Fizz-with-Thyme-5I was introduced to Cranberry Spite this Thanksgiving and I’ve been on the search for cocktails to make with it.  I’m loving this cranberry-orange gin fizz with thyme by Jennie of Messy Baker.   It has just the right amount of tartness, sweetness, and punch!

crownandgingerLet’s cheers to this Crown and apple ginger cocktail by Amy of Your Southern Peach. Forget about the usual ice cubes this New Year’s Eve.  How about making some frozen apple ice cubes?  (Simply freeze apple juice or apple cider.)

Bee's Knees2014 is going to be the Bee’s Knees with this drink in hand!  Learn a little history about this refreshing cocktail from Doug of Cold Glass.  The secret is all in the honey.

2013-10-16-020-933x1200December is not complete without a mug of hot buttered rum!  This burnt-sugar hot buttered rum by Katie of Katie at the Kitchen Door sounds like a delicious and cozy drink to end the night with.

What’s my drink of choice every New Year’s Eve?  A classic French 75. I was introduced to this elegant drink at my first fancy, schmancy black tie NYE party.  It was magical.  I’m sure this version by Barbara of Creative Culinary will become your favorite, too.
