There are very few things that sound less appealing to me than ironing. Very few things! However, sometimes a little bit of pressing can take a blouse from slovenly to sensational in just seconds, so I started thinking of ways to simplify this task. The more simple something is, the more likely we’re all likely to do it, so here you have it — The Mini Machine Topper Ironing Board!

The supplies

This ironing board is so light, portable and conveniently fitted for the smallest of laundry rooms. Not to mention that it’s a really easy way to add some color and life to a typically bland space. Here’s how you can create it at home:

Supplies:

Pre-cut plywood
(Get cut to the dimensions of the top of your washer or dryer)

Fabric
(Add at least 2-3 inches both horizontally and vertically to the ply wood size)

Lining

Staple gun

Scissors

Lay down your fabric, lining and plywood stacked on top of each other. Trim both the fabric and lining to fit the plywood, leaving at least 2-3 inches of extra fabric and slightly shorter lining all the way around.

Fold in one side of the fabric/lining and secure with staple gun.

Place your new creation on the washing machine, plug in your iron, and start killing those wrinkles!

it's right there!

CHIC TIP: This board is perfect for a laundry room or laundry closet, but it’s portable size means that it can go just about anywhere with you! Place it on your coffee table while you watch tv or take it to the kitchen table while you’re waiting for dinner to finish cooking.
