It’s fall, which means various sports thingies are happening, as well as parties! Neither would be complete without a crowd-pleasing dip … and what’s more crowd-pleasing than something that contains bacon AND cream cheese? Literally nothing. This dip contains both, and with the addition of tomatoes and green onion has a flavor reminiscent of a BLT but in dip form. It’s very delicious, is what I’m trying to say! I paired it with Town House crackers and served it at a party where it was swiftly demolished by twelve people.
What you need:
1/4 cup green onions, sliced
2 tomatoes, seeded and diced
12 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup low-fat mayonnaise
2 cups low-fat sour cream
1 cup mild cheddar cheese
8 oz. softened cream cheese
fresh cracked pepper
Before you get started: Make sure the cream cheese really is soft, otherwise you’re going to be smashing the lumps out for an eternity. Also, when preparing this much bacon, it’s much easier to bake on a cookie sheet than to fry up in a pan.
4. This part’s optional, but if you want to take the time to serve some avocado slices alongside the crackers, it makes the dip taste even more amazing!! Either way, you’re going to have an empty bowl at the end of the night.
